Wake up with determination.. go to bed with satisfaction.

I have about 6 or so weeks left until my due date! YIKES! Most people hope their babies come on or even before their due dates, and even though I might be as uncomfortable as ever, I am completely happy with Fried baby girl #2 showing up in more like 8ish weeks. We have made some progress since I started painting but not as much as I would have hoped. Everything takes way longer than you expect. Well, at least way longer than I expect, anyways. And Damien works a lot so that leaves me to do stuff and I can only do so much because I'm about the size of a small boat right now. So there's that.

First thing we decided to do was sand the makeshift counters we have right now. They were starting to get food and stuff on them so we needed to figure out a way to protect them better. We decided to sand them and stain them and then add polyurethane on top. According to the internets, this will help. We also have 2 large cutting boards we keep down at all times for any food prep. However, we needed a way to protect the wood better from moisture.

Neither of us wanted to really invest any money into the makeshift countertops so we are just using some stuff I have laying around: a weathered gray stain and leftover polyurethane from who-knows-what project in the past. So far we only have them stained.

Hopefully mid-week things will be back together because as of now everything is piled up on the table so there is absolutely no room anywhere and it's tough to function, much less prepare any sort of meal.  Things are still going to look very rustic (to put it nicely) in the kitchen area but should be a little more functional and finished looking.

Today Damien barely had any work to do so we went to Ollie's to get an idea of how much carpet would cost because we are planning to do some major re-arranging in the next week or two but felt we would need to finish up the flooring first to make it easiest. We looked forever and eventually came up with some okay looking remnants that would cost us close to $300 for two rooms. Damien suggested checking out Big Bob's Flooring (next to Ollie's) just to make sure they couldn't do better. I didn't think they could, but boy was I wrong! Within 2 minutes of being there the salesman, Jeremy, showed us a really nice tan, plush, and soft piece of carpeting, much higher end than anything Ollie's had to offer in the size we needed for only $129! I was so happy, but before I could even speak he said "I can sell you this for 100 bucks". We immediately said we wanted it! We were not planning on getting all the carpeting we needed but then he offered us another piece (in a purple shade) for only $75! So we ended up with two really nice pieces of carpet for $175 which will finish up the new flooring in the trailer. I wouldn't have picked a purple shade, but I am so happy to have carpet! I now have high hopes that we can have this place nice and cozy before baby girl Fried #2 gets here... as long as she stays put for at least another 6 weeks!

I'm so glad we got a van!

I hope before this week is over to have the following things done:

#1. Paint in kitchen/hallway
#2. Carpet in living room and bedroom
#3. Re-arranging completed
#4. Kitchen counters finished and paint touched up around them.

PLUS at some point I need to make Abigail's Halloween costume.

I hope this whole nesting thing soon kicks in so I can actually get this stuff done.
